AUGUSTA – William H. Fish of 35 Almar St., Farmingdale, died May 16, at the Veterans’ Home.
He was born in Kings Mills, Whitefield, on Oct. 31, 1918, the son of E. Scott Fish and Harriet N. (Harlow) Fish. He graduated from Gardiner High School in 1936, and attended Bangor Seminary from 1938 to 1940.
After service in the U.S. Navy in World War II, he was employed at the Veterans’ Administration Center, Togus, retiring in 1979 after 36 years of government service.
His wife, Anne Elizabeth Anderson Fish, died in 1991.
He is survived by a son, Peter Fish; daughters, Gail Anne Williams, Priscilla Mae Mosher and Eleanor Dale Wilson; a stepson, Thomas H. McLaughlin; a sister, Beverly Jane Tardiff; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
