OAKLAND – A forestry conference will be held on Saturday, June 27, at Messalonskee High School. Participants can learn how to enjoy and profit from a family forest and can brush up on their knowledge of alternative forest products, learn about new small business enterprises or tackle the issues of changing traditional markets among other subjects.

The program is approved for professional CFE credits by the Society of American Foresters under Category 1-CF: four credits, one for each one-hour session; and two Maine pesticide credits, one each for insects and disease control and finding solutions for invasive plant problems. Continuing education credits for CLP and MLC are also available.

Attendees can browse through trade show vendors to view the latest in forestry products, service providers and woodlot management equipment. Twelve seminars will be offered and lunch will be provided.

The registration fee is $20 each person and some scholarships will be available. Participants should register by Monday, June 22.
