NORTHPORT – Hazel Lilla Wilbur, 88, of Northport, formerly of Wilton, died Sunday, May 17, at her home.

She was born April 23, 1921, in Reddington Station, the daughter of William Warren and Vera Alura Walker and received her education in Strong schools. On Dec. 9, 1941, she married Lawrence Wilbur, a union which lasted 67 years.

She worked at GH Bass, until her retirement and lived most of her life in Wilton, moving to Northport in 2008. Word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, television and camping were her favorite pastimes. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially when lobster and ice cream were on the menu.

She loved all animals, wild or domestic, especially cats. She had a jolly personality, a dry sense of humor, loved to get the last word and usually did. She was a past member of the Rebekahs and was an avid member of the Maine Antique Power Association. She enjoyed camping and traveling with Lawrence in their camper trailer.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence of Northport; daughters, Lillian Dagneau and her husband, Marcel, of Northport and Vera Williams and her husband, Terry, of Cave Springs, Ga.; a sister, Helen Weston of Wilton; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a beloved cousin, Earland Walker of Farmington.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Gosselin on July 11, 1992; two sisters, Alice Tardy and Irene Labelle; and a brother, Nelson Walker.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to express profound gratitude for the excellent care and support provided by members of the Kno-Wal-Lin Home care and hospice program.
