FARMINGDALE – Andy Tupper ripped a solo homer to start the scoring in the second inning, leading Lisbon to a 6-1 triumph over Hall-Dale on Wednesday afternoon.
Mat Hardison went 2-4, smacking a single in the third to drive in Frank Angelico and a bases-loaded double in the fourth that drove in two runs. Tyler Brown earned the win for the Greyhounds (7-4) , stirking out nine batters.
The victory provided the Greyhounds with a much-needed bundle of Heal Points as they vye for a playoff berth in Western Class B.
Ryan Leach hit an RBI single in the third inning to record the lone Hall-Dale (8-2) run.
Livermore Falls 11, Boothbay 1
LIVERMORE FALLS – James McLamb struck out nine batters in five innings as Livermore Falls coasted to a 11-1 victory over Boothbay in an MVC baseball tilt.
Josh Tainter led the Andies (10-2) with two hits and three RBIs. Leading 4-0 after three frames, Livermore Falls added four runs in the fourth to seal the win.
Dan Gagnon worked the first three innings for Boothbay (1-9) and was saddled with the loss.
Dirigo 10, Jay 0
DIXFIELD – James Moulton and Tristan Franchetti combined to toss a two-hit shitout, with Moulton earning the win and striking out seven batters, to lead Dirigo to a 10-0 victory over Jay.
Tyler Chiasson hit a triple and a single, and recorded three RBIs for the Cougars (9-3). Josh Palmer went 2-2, with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Tyler Gates finished with a pair of base hits, an RBI, and three stolen bases.
For Jay (2-10), Billy Calden had a hit and two stolen bases, while teammate Kyle DeMillo also had a single and a stolen base.
Cony 7, Edward Little 0
AUBURN – Ryan Minoty and Nick Lucas scattered three hits and received adequate run support as Cony easily outpowered Edward Little, 7-0, in KVAC action.
Edward Litte was ranked first in the latest Eastern Class A Heal Point standings, while Cony was sixth (10-2).
Nick Lucas and Luke Dunklee led the Rams’ well-balanced attack with three hits and one RBI each, while Ray Cotnoir and Jake Lachance belted four hits and scored three runs.
Matt Gordon started out on the mound for the Red Eddies (10-2) and took the loss after allowing four runs in five innings.
Oxford Hills 10, Leavitt 0
TURNER – Tucker Hill hurled a one-hitter Wednesday and drew ample run support as Oxford Hills coasted to a 10-0 shutout over Leavitt.
Alex Newton and Kyle Farrar led the Vikings (6-6) with two hits and two RBIs each, while catcher Matt Verrier belted a two-run single in the third inning. Oxford Hills led 2-0 after two frames before exploding for seven runs in the third.
Sam Berry was starting pitcher for the Hornets (2-10).
Bangor 7, Mt. Blue 0
BANGOR – Jordan Clark scattered four hits and received plenty of run support as Bangor rolled to a 7-0 victory over Mt. Blue.
Cody McGinnis, Ryan Laroche and Dylan Morris all belted two hits for the Rams (10-2), while Lonnie Hackett drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.
Tim Smith suffered the loss for Mt. Blue (6-6) after working the first five innings.
Waterville 11, Oak Hill 4
WATERVILLE-Curt Chaput blasted two homers, a two-run shot in the third inning and a three-run homer in the fourth, to lead Waterville to an 11-4 victory over Oak Hill.
Kyle Bishop and Jay Whitten each smacked RBI doubles in the win Waterville (10-2).
Oak Hill’s (6-5) Zach Lenett, Ben Rines, and Brett Turcotte had back-to-back doubles, with Rines and Turcottes bringing in runs.
Cape Elizabeth 6, St. Dom’s 2
CAPE ELIZABETH -Robert McDonald hit a pair of doubles, producing an RBI on his double in the first inning as Cape Elizabeth beat St. Dom’s 6-2.
Kyle Piscopo, Robert McDonald, and Tanner Garrity each had a pair of hits for the Capers (8-3).
Richard Paradis ripped a solo homer in the third inning for the Saints (10-1).
Mt. Abram 8, Wiscasset 2
SALEM – Freshman pitcher Josh Beedy had a solid defensive backing to help him secure Mt. Abram’s 8-2 triumph over Wiscasset on Wednesday in MVC baseball.
Back-to-back singles by Mike Bonney and Greg Dexter, immediately followed a Hank Poulin double to score both Bonney and Dexter, sparked a six-run third inning. Aaron McGinness and John Smith each smacked RBI triples in the game for the Roadrunner (6-5).
Chris Brawn had three hits, including a triple, for the Redskins (5-5).
