Kim Pfusch, a volunteer at the Salvation Army mobile canteen, prepares some chicken sandwiches for the lunch time meal at Kennedy Park in Lewiston on Wednesday. The Salvation Army Canteen provides 150 meals 3 times a week with an all-volunteer staff. “We try to provide more than just a meal. A smile to our patron goes a long way offering encouragement, and letting them know that they are special is the most rewarding part of this work,” Pfusch said.
