It is commendable that the Sun Journal frequently gives exposure to the Special Olympics, as it once again did on May 14.I think it is unfortunate, however,that editors chose to print on the front page a rather unattractive picture of a young man exposing his chest and abdomen under the heading, “Belly laugh.”
Didn’t anyone in the newsroom consider this an affront to his dignity?Surely there were other pictures taken during the Franklin County competition that could have much more appropriately conveyed the spirit of the games and the joy which the competitors derived from it.
