AUBURN – Kory Norcross pitched four solid innings, striking out eight batters to lead Gee & Bee Sports past Pat’s Pizza, 11-1, in Auburn Suburban Little League Major Division softball.
Every batter got a hit for Gee & Bee. Kailey Norcross notched two hits from the leadoff spot. Makayla Norcross and Kory Norcross each had three hits, including a double and an inside-the-park home run for Kory.
Emily Jacques, Karli Stubbs, Margaret Fogerty, Sam Herrick, Kirsten Lupher, Alex Hunt and Ally Laverdiere all chipped in a hit. Emily Jacques made a great catch at first base.
Pat’s Pizza pitcher Brittany Willams remained strong throughout the game.
Gee & Bee faces Pat’s Pizza again this week.
The team continued its winning ways with a 7-3 victory over Rotary. Kory Norcross had 12 strikeouts on the mound to highlight the day for Gee & Bee.
Norcross also went 3-for-4 with two triples and a double. Karli Stubbs went 3-for-3, while Calli Murray and Makayla Norcross each had a hit.
Rotary hurler Emily Schario pitched a terrific game with Sarah Hammond as her catcher. Hammond made some impressive stops behind the plate. Meagan Chartier and Schario both delivered a hit.
ASLL baseball
Pat’s Pizza defeated Hammond Lumber 10-7 in a tightly contested ASLL Minor Division baseball contest.
Cooper Watkins, Ben Cassidy and Patrick Dooley led the offensive attack for Pat’s with three hits apiece. Jamison Pooler and Alex Breton added doubles for the Pizzamen’s cause. Storm Jipson produced the defensive gem, throwing out a runner at third base from center field.
Devon Daskey and Drew Tiner combined for five hits and five runs for Hammond. Caleb Yarnevich was sharp at first base.
HRH moved to 6-0 with a 3-1 victory over East Auburn.
Evan Raymond pitched 4 1/3 innings, striking out 10. Brian Crane sealed the game in relief for HRH.
Lew Jensen started on the mound for East Auburn, pitching four innings and striking out eight. Kaileb Tremaine pitched in relief for East Auburn.
Zachary Hurd hit a single, driving in Bryce Gibson for a 1-0 lead win the fourth inning. Brandon Knapp followed with a home run to finish the scoring for HRH.
Brian Crane produced the only other hit for HRH, a double in the fifth inning. Lew Jensen delivered the only hit for East Auburn.
Seth Sterling reached on a base on balls and moved around the bases to score East Auburn’s only run.
Both teams were superb defensively, led by Cole Butler for HRH and Noah Sterling for East Auburn.

In opening day action for Elliot Ave. Babe Ruth, Pepsi defeated Wendy’s, 9-2.
Ben Wigant pitched six strong innings for the win. Brian Wigant finished the game. Cam Hart and Jake Bergeron shared pitching duties for Wendy’s.
Luke Cote, Ben Wigant, Leo Gaghan and Alec Collins had doubles for Pepsi. Jake Bergeron and Chris Madden notched hits for Wendy’s.
Ben Chicoine made several athletic catches for Wendy’s.
