BANGOR (AP) – A frost advisory is posted for portions of Maine and New Hampshire early Tuesday behind a cold front that brought golf ball-size hail and winds of up to 60 mph to Aroostook County over the Memorial Day weekend.
Meteorologist Lee Foster of the National Weather Service in Caribou said the hail was reported in Eagle Lake along with high winds in the Allagash region Sunday.
The Bangor Daily News said the strong winds blew down three-fourths of a Woodland resident’s 50-by-100-foot shed.
Foster said the storm moved so quickly that only one-tenth of an inch of rain was reported at the weather station.
