AUBURN – Mechanics Savings Bank has announced the promotion of Richard L. “Dick” Roy to executive vice president/chief banking officer. In his new position, Roy will oversee commercial, retail and private banking, and is responsible for the bank’s marketing efforts.
In May 2008, Roy joined Mechanics Savings Bank as executive vice president of commercial lending and private banking. He assisted in establishing Mechanics Private Bank for Business and Professionals, an integrated service model that assists clients in streamlining their business and personal banking needs through individualized banking relationships.
Roy’s experience in commercial lending in the Lewiston-Auburn area spans more than 28 years, having previously served as senior vice president and group manager for the Central Maine region at TD Banknorth in Auburn. Prior to that, he served as regional vice president of commercial lending at Bank of America in Lewiston. He holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Southern New Hampshire and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Southern Maine. He also attended the Williams College School of Banking.
Active in the community, Roy serves as finance committee chairman and vice chairman of the board of the Central Maine Medical Center board of directors. He is a member of the Central Maine Healthcare board of directors and a past chairman and member of the Central Maine Community College board of directors.
Roy resides in Minot with his wife.
