AUBURN – HRH Insurance moved to 8-0 in the Major Division of Auburn Suburban Little League baseball with a doubleheader sweep of Hardy, Wolf & Downing.

Brian Crane pitched a complete game for HRH in the opener, striking out 10 while allowing only one hit. Jack Coyne pitched four innings for HWD, striking out eight. Bradley Morrissette finished up the game on the mound for HWD, getting two strikeouts.

HRH hits belonged to Bryce Gibson, Evan Raymond, Brandon Knapp and Brian Crane. Alex Brushwein had the Hardy hit. He also scored the team’s lone run on a fielder’s choice. Defensively for HRH, Gibson wielded superb leather along with Max Goodwin.

In the rematch, Cameron Raymond notched six strikeouts to propel HRH pasrt HWD, 12-2.

Kyle Romero, Isaiah Washington, Brady Gosselin and Jacob Dubuc each pitched for HWD. Cole Butler, Knapp and Evan Raymond were repeat hitters for HRH. Steve Sinclair, Gibson, Cam Raymond and Zachary Hurd also joined the hit parade. HRH’s Brian Crane had multiple hits, one a three-run home run.

Alex Brushwein and Morrissette were repeat hitters for HWD, with Romero and Jack Coyne also pounding out hits.

Defensively, HRH’s Race Bouchard played rock solid along with Brandon Knapp. Coyne and Aaron Fanjoy paced HWD in the field.

Apple Valley Babe Ruth

WINTHROP – Travis Luce belted a home run and a double to push Winthrop past Maranacook, 11-10, in a Apple Valley Babe Ruth baseball clash.

Jim Theriault cranked a triple for Winthrop (1-0).

Ryan Castonguay added a single and a double, while Tyler Stockford doubled twice.

Eben Ballard and Richard Hall each slapped two singles to lead Maranacook (2-1). Cory McSweeney and Colin Guild both added a single. Stockford picked up the mound victory.
