AUBURN – Armand J. Richard, 92, formerly of 208 Central Ave., Lewiston, died Saturday, May 23, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn.

Born in Lewiston on March 31, 1917, he was the son of Aime and Cordelia Gagne Richard. He was educated in local schools and attended Roberts Business College in Lewiston. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

On May 19, 1943, he married the former Adrienne Begin, who passed away on April 29, 2008. Armand worked in the construction field prior to his retirement, belonged to the American Legion, and was a parishioner of Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica.

He had a life-long love of reading, but will be remembered by his family mostly as a loving and caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include a son, Paul and wife, Francine, of Lewiston; two sisters, Gertrude and husband, Armand Huard, of Lewiston, and Jacqueline Bisson of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Marie Richard of Munich, Germany, Michele and husband, William Tenaglia, of Cranston, R.I., and Dominique Richard of Boston; a great-granddaughter Madeleine Tenaglia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, George; and sisters, Rita Barber and Laurette Pelletier.

The family would like to thank Dr. Austin, Mary Heath, Bobbi Hill, Mona and all others from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the care and attention given to Armand, and for the compassion shown to the family during his illness.
