LEWISTON – A memorial Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Thomas Asselin was celebrated by the Rev. Nathan March Tuesday morning at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
During Mass the readings were proclaimed by Tom’s granddaughter, Lisa Asselin. The Offertory Gifts were brought to the altar by Tom’s sons, Robert and Daniel Asselin. Words of remembrance were shared by Tom’s granddaughter, Shelley Dustin.
Following a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, Father March recited committal prayers and the United States Army Honor Detail played “taps” and presented our country’s flag to Tom’s wife, Winnie, for services rendered by her husband to his country during World War II. All were then invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston at the conclusion of services. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
