LEWISTON – Janet L. Farnsworth, 55, a resident of Winthrop Road, Readfield, died Thursday morning at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center where she had been a patient for the past two days.
She was born Aug. 3, 1953, in Augusta, the daughter of Grover and Mildred (Pettengill) Dyer. Janet graduated from Winthrop High School.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and helping the local churches and people throughout the community.
She is survived by her mother, Mildred Dyer of Winthrop; former husband, Dennis Farnsworth of Leeds; three daughters and their husbands, Denise and Michael Buck of Winthrop; Jennifer and Daniel Breton of Augusta; and Jo Ellynn and Eugene Drake of Livermore Falls; two sons, Dennis Farnsworth II and his wife, Angie, of Lagrange and Johnathan Farnsworth and his companion, Tammy, of Lewiston; 20 grandchildren; three brothers, David Dyer and his wife, Linda, of Winthrop; Steve Dyer of Winslow and Michael Dyer and his wife, Susan, of Dresden; four sisters, Judith Cochran of Canaan, Faith Dyer and her husband, Ed, of Monmouth; Donna Dyer of Manchester; and Kathy Wadley and her husband, Paul, of West Gardiner.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Michael Scott Buck II.
