BETHEL – A 16-year-old from Bethel suffered minor injuries Thursday afternoon after police say he lost control of his pickup truck on Bailey Road and it rolled into a tree.

Police Chief Alan Carr identified the driver as Andrew Sprague.

Officer Jeffrey Campbell said the 1993 Toyota truck rolled once and landed against a tree. Sprague, who was wearing a safety belt, did not have to be extricated.

“It appeared that speed was a factor,” Campbell said.

The teen was examined by Bethel Rescue, but declined to be taken to a hospital, Campbell added.

The truck was totaled.

Bailey Road is off the northbound side of Route 26, just before Intervale Road.
