Artists gear up for fast-paced show of their work
BRUNSWICK – The Frontier Café will host Pecha Kucha Brunswick, a fast-paced showcase of art and ideas, at 6 p.m. Monday, June 15.
Started in Japan in 2003, Pecha Kucha is a visual and verbal chit-chat or little conversation about design, art and innovation. Presenters will have exactly six minutes and 40 seconds to give the audience a glimpse of 20 of their strongest pieces of work. Each slide is viewed and discussed for exactly 20 seconds.
For this event, Five Rivers Arts Alliance is collaborating with Frontier Café, Cinema & Gallery and Women, and Work & Community.
Presenting artwork will be Michele Stapleton, photography; Ed McCartan, painting; Lynette Breton, furniture; Carolyn Judson, sculpture and drawing; Nathan Broaddus, photography; Jamie Silvestri, ArtVan Program; Rebecca McNulty, puppetry and drawing; Howard Hatch, furniture; Dennis Stein, photography; and Patty Olds, fiber art.
The event is free for Five Rivers members, $5 for the general public. To reserve a spot, e-mail info@fiveriversartsalliance.org. Frontier Café is at 14 Maine St. For more information, log on to www.fiveriversartsalliance.org or call 798-6964.
