AUGUSTA (AP) – Gov. John Baldacci has signed a bill that will increase Maine residents’ snowmobile registration fees by $5.
The bill, signed by the governor Monday, will raise the fee from $35 to $40 per year. The money goes to the state’s Snowmobile Trail Fund.
An earlier version of the bill proposed $15 registration increases.
The new law will not affect nonresidents’ fees, which were increased last year.
