Lucien R. Doucet
1923-2009
AUBURN — Lucien R. Doucet Sr., 85, of 10 Oak Park, Lewiston, died Tuesday June 2, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 12, 1923 the son of Wilfrid and Blanche (Belleville) Doucette. He attended schools in Lewiston and later served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a radio operator during World War II.
On Nov. 24, 1945, he married Pauline McCarthy and in 1948 they moved and made their home in Woodsville, N.H. where he worked for many years in various shoe shops. They returned to Lewiston in 1991.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus in Woodsville, N.H.
Lucien loved to work on his computer and was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Doucet of Lewiston; his daughters Michele Steen of Chester, S.C., and Anna Heath of N. Haverhill, N.H.; his sons Lucien Doucet Jr. and his wife Doris of Lewiston and Florida, Mark Doucet of Bath, N.H. and Joseph Doucet of Manchester, N.H.; as well as seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Kevin Doucet, in 1973 and by his three sisters.
