The Lewiston Middle School Wellness Committee, Nicole Pendexter, Debbra Beauchesne, Sarah Levasseur, Megan Praschak, Beth Woodhead and Judy Howard, held the first annual Hoops for Heart/Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser for the American Heart Association on May 12. Nici Carbone and “Ticker” of the American Heart Association joined the event. Students engaged in physical activity with basketballs, jump ropes or Hula hoops for one hour to raise heart health awareness and donations for the organization. Students and staff raised almost $250 and Crystal Spring donated water for the event.
