AUBURN – Volunteers from several Advent Christian Churches in the Maine Conference of Advent Christians Churches will help the Auburn congregation repair the building at 263 Turner St. on Saturday, June 13.

The building is more than 115 years old and has recently been neglected due to a declining congregation. The primary repairs needed are a partial roof replacement, some interior repairs, interior painting and the repair of some of the basement window frames.

The congregation has a new pastor and will have a new outreach to the surrounding community. One of the projects that has begun is an after-school program for children in the neighborhood, which includes assistance with homework, social time and games, snack time and reading time. The state conference is helping the congregation as an inner-city mission project.
