IN 1930, IN THE MIDST OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION, DuPont bucked the trend to hunker down, pinch-pennies, and wring hands. Instead, capitalizing on low material costs and available talent, DuPont increased R & D spending to commercially develop a wonder material called neoprene, a synthetic rubber that became the best friend of divers and automakers everywhere. Neoprene was introduced commercially in 1937, and became one of the biggest inventions of the century. The company soon followed up by introducing nylon.

This year’s Androscoggin Business to Business Trade Show has as its theme, “Recharge Your Business.” Our goal: to get businesses and organizations to think beyond the recession and focus on how they will re-position themselves to thrive and prosper through innovation, collaboration, and determination.

We’re more excited than ever about this year’s show. We’ll try to give away a 2010 Toyota Prius, publish tips and trends on how to survive – and even prosper – in this difficult economy, feature an attendee Rejuvenation Station complete with massages and aroma therapy, and offer inspiration at our annual kick-off breakfast in collaboration with the local Chamber of Commerce. We’ll also provide great networking opportunities, culminating in a giant Business After Hours, catered by Hilton Garden Inn Auburn Riverwatch.

One thing remains constant, even in this ever-changing business climate: the B to B Trade Show is all about connections. The best and largest one-day business show in the state, our nearly 200 exhibitors and 2,500 attendees will continue to promote their businesses and services, showcase new products, launch new initiatives, and tell the world why they are determined to succeed and thrive.
