Mainstream dance
WILTON – Friendship Squares will host an easy mainstream square dance from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the Cushing School. Walter Bull will be caller and Carol Stewart, cuer. All are welcome.
Society speaker
FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Valley Chapter, Maine Geological Society, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, in the Farmington Public Library. The program will be presented by Carol Dolan, who will talk about Willis Pelton, an itinerant Maine painter during the first half of the 20th century. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to attend.
Has graduated
LIMESTONE – The Maine School of Science and Math held graduation ceremonies on May 23, and Megan Frey was among the 42 seniors to receive diplomas.
She is the daughter of Jeannie and Matt Gaudet of Jay and Jeff Frey of Jay. Her grandparents are Frank and Kathy Frey, Karol Frey and Charlie and Sharon Huff, all of Jay.
Frey began her high school career at MSSM as a sophomore. She was chosen by the faculty to be the student speaker at graduation. Frey will attend Lesley College in Cambridge, Mass., to study special education. She wants to work with children with autism.
Vacation school
JAY – Jay Baptist Church will hold Daily Vacation Bible School, “Polar Extremes – All-of-Me, All Out for God,” from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday, June 22 to 26.
Ages 3 to 18 are invited to attend the week of Bible stories, crafts, contests, games and refreshments. A cookout is planned for closing day Friday, with the closing program at 7 p.m. For church bus transportation, call 897-9501.
