STAMFORD, Conn. – Margaret A. Fox, 89, of Manchester, N.H., died on June 8, after a brief illness.

She was born in Lewiston, on Oct. 9, 1919, the daughter of C. Leo and Sadie Manning Cosgrove. She was educated in Lewiston schools and performed secretarial work at Pepperell Associates. She devoted her life to her extended family and after moving to Manchester in 1960, was active at St. Catherine of Siena Church in the Women’s Guild and Couples Club. She later participated in the Women’s Club and various bridge groups.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Fox-O’Brien and son-in-law, Dana J. O’Brien, as well as granddaughters, Amy M. O’Brien and Beth N. O’Brien, all of Riverside, Conn.; her sisters-in-law, Aline Cosgrove of Lewiston and Virginia Cosgrove of Kingstown, R.I.; nieces and nephews include Patricia A. Serafin of Carmel, N.Y., Charles L. Cosgrove III of Great Falls, Va., Kathleen Cosgrove Shea of East Greenwich, R.I., Thomas H. Cosgrove of Langhorne, Pa., James F. Cosgrove Jr. of Princeton, N.J., Sarah Cosgrove Larsen of Iowa City, Iowa, and Stephen A. Cosgrove of Clifton Park, N.Y.

She was predeceased in 1986 by her husband of 35 years, Francis E. Fox; and later by her siblings, James F. Cosgrove and Charles L. Cosgrove Jr.
