HARTFORD – The town center will be a hub of excitement for Heritage Day, Saturday, June 13.

The Heritage Society is hosting the annual celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Town Hall on Main Street (Route 140), the town center and the J and O Irish Museum.

Cooks are bringing their rhubarb samples and recipes for a contest that will take place at 11 a.m. Arthur Harvey will be doing a blueberry farming and picking demonstration in front of his home in the town center. He has a large commercial field in Hartford.

Other demonstrations include butter churning, ice cream making, woodsmen’s skills, sign carving and spinning. There will also be a quilt exhibition.

A baked bean dinner with hot dogs, biscuits, churned butter, pies and homemade ice cream will be served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

After lunch, the Buckfield High School band will play. Games and entertainment will take place all day.

Baked goods may be purchased at the Irish Museum throughout the day.

Proceeds from the day support the Hartford Heritage Society and renovation of the Museum.
