AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston Kiwanis Club has awarded college scholarships to four graduating seniors from area high schools.
Brianna Dostie, Leavitt Area High School, is daughter of Donald and Shannon Dostie of Greene.
Lori Robinson, St. Dominic Regional High School, is the daughter of Stephen and Louise Robinson of Poland.
Gregory St. Denis, Edward Little High School, is the son of Gerald and Kelly St. Denis of Auburn.
Stephanie Gagne, Lewiston High School, is the daughter of Ernie and Patti Gagne of Lewiston.
The scholarships are made possible by the fundraising efforts of the local Kiwanis organization. The largest event includes the annual pancake breakfast, which will be held this year from 6:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 14, at the Festival Plaza.
The Kiwanis organization supports local children, mentors and supports three area high school Key Clubs, provides eyeglasses for underprivileged children and distributes daily passes at the Auburn Public Library to museums such as the Discovery, Portland Art, Trolley, Southworth, Maine Maritime and the Wild Animal Park in Gray.
These passes are available for all members of Lewiston and Auburn public libraries. They also support the book program at Longley School, Advocates for Children, Cub Scouts soccer and camp programs, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Sandcastle Preschool and L/A Arts education.
