FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District will present a GPS introduction class at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Farmington Municipal Center.
The class will teach people how to use a global positioning system, expand their GPS skills and avoid expensive, time-consuming and risky mistakes.
GPS training is also ideal for Realtors, search and rescue personnel, recreational boaters and fishermen.
Patty Cormier of the Maine Forest Service will conduct the training session.
The Maine Forest Service has 25 GPS units that participants will use for the training. Each class is limited to 25 people. Cost of each training session is $15. Participants should come prepared with bug spray and clothing appropriate for outside weather conditions.
People must preregister and prepay by 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18. To register, send a check or visit the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District, 107 Park St.
