POLAND – The Ricker Memorial Library has announced the summer reading program, “Be Creative @ Your Library,” with registration beginning Monday, June 15.
Reading clubs, Wednesday morning activities and evening events will be open to community members. Children will be encouraged to record their summer reading on a reading log and bring it to the library for stickers and prizes. The Wednesday morning program will feature opportunities to create and listen to stories.
The following evening events are planned for children of all ages:
The LaClaire’s bluegrass concert, at 7 p.m. Friday, June 19.
Dana Perkins, ventriloquist and magic show, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 7.
Crafts with Kellie Whitten, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 13.
Chewonki presents: Creative Animal Adaptations, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 20.
Hobby night, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 30.
Throughout the summer, discount passes will be available for the Maine Wildlife Park and USM Southworth Planetarium.
