LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine announces registration for summer swim lessons.

Classes are available for all abilities, for children age 6 months to adult. Classes will begin on Monday, June 22, and end on Thursday, Aug. 13.

Private swim lessons are also available for YWCA members by appointment, for $25 each half hour or $45 each hour session.

Seniors to meet

AUBURN – The First Auburn Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the Hasty Community Center. President Pat Records will conduct the meeting. Installation of officers and board members for 2009-10 will be held, with Lucy Cowles as the installing officer.

Meal tickets for $4 will be on sale for a chicken barbecue to be held Wednesday, July 15. Members are reminded to bring cups and utensils for the spaghetti luncheon.

There were 58 members present at the last meeting. Pot of gold winners were Buzz Edwards, Joan Webb and Shirley Hawkins. Attendance winners were Rita Gagnon and Pat Edwards.

VFW meeting

LEWISTON – The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the Multi-Purpose Center. The agenda will include upcoming events for the post. All officers and members encouraged to attend and eligible veterans are invited to join the post.
