Citizen award

WEST PARIS – Grange 298 will honor a community citizen and hold an open house program at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at 4 Church St.

This year the Grange is honoring Joseph Perham. Not only is he a noted Maine humorist and musician, but he is a retired teacher and minister of the area.

Society program

WEST PARIS – The Finnish American Heritage Society of Maine will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.

After a brief business meeting, Tamara Cohen will present a program comparing the Finnish and American educational systems.

Parish speaker

STONEHAM – Oxford County United Parish will have guest speaker Dianne Hood at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, June 21. Rick Hood will also entertain the congregation with his special renditions. The service will be held at Stoneham Church.

Dance on tap

NORWAY – Karaoke and a dance will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the American Legion Post 82. Professional DJs, the Old Crows, will provide the music. Food will be available. The cost is $6 and proceeds will benefit the post.

Indoor yard sale

WATERFORD – The first indoor yard sale of the season will be held from 8 to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Wilkins House, Plummer Hill.

There will be something for everyone. Proceeds will benefit the Wilkins House and the church. Call Karen for information at 583-2320.
