FARMINGTON – To draw attention to the agricultural heritage of the area and to remind everyone that farming plays a vital role in the economy of the region, Franklin County Farm Bureau and the Maine Antique Tractor Club will sponsor the second annual photography contest on Saturday, June 27, in the Starbird Building on the Farmington Fairgrounds.

Because the contest will be held during the antique tractor show, all photos entered must have a tractor included.

There will be two categories: youth, under 18; and adult, 18 and older. All photographs must be framed and wired or have a strong hanger/hook. Photographs may be either black and white or in color. Mats are optional but must be of solid construction and part of the presentation.

Photographs must be at least 5 x 7 inches and not larger than 11 x 14 inches. The overall size of picture and frame must be less than 18 x 18. There will be no restrictions on when photographs were taken.

Area businesses have donated gift certificates for prizes and a list of them will be available at time of entry.

Entries will be accepted in the Starbird Building from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 26, or from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27. Judging will occur around 10:30. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded following the judging.
