LEWISTON – Doris Inez DeMillo, 84, of Livermore Falls, died early Wednesday, June 17, at Montello Manor.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1924, in New Hampshire, the daughter of Merrill Eugene and Eva Inez (Merrill) Flagg. She attended school in New Hampshire, graduating from Thayer High School in Winchester, N.H.

On May 24, 1947, she married Francisco DeMillo in Keene, N.H., where they made their home for a short time before returning to Maine.

As a young woman, she worked at a machine shop and toy shop during World War II and also taught Bible school. After her marriage, she worked at SS Kresges shortly before she and her husband moved to Maine. While fulfilling her duties as a loving homemaker to her family, she also worked at the Glove Factory in Livermore Falls. She has been volunteering and substituting at the Treat Memorial Library in Livermore Falls since 1987. She remained very active organizing many various bus trips through Cyr Bus Lines. She enjoyed traveling very much and did so throughout the United States and Europe.

She attended St. Rose of Lima in Jay and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and Rosary Sodality of the former St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed the Jay/Livermore Senior Citizens, reading, trips with her family, shopping and family gatherings.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Felice LaBrecque and her husband, Robert, of Jay, Francisco Timothy “Tim” DeMillo and his wife, Mary, of Jay and Antonio Eugene “Tony” DeMillo and his wife, Teresa, of Jay; grandchildren, Jennifer Bowley and her companion, Brad Haas, of New Hampshire, Ryan LaBrecque and his wife, Renee, of Greene, Erika DeMillo and her companion, Mike Booker, of Jay, Ashley DeMillo and her fiancé, Paul “PJ” Fitch Jr., of Jay, Brittany Salisbury and her husband, Brian, of Auburn and Aaron DeMillo of Jay; stepgrandchildren, Samuel and Stephen Howes of Jay; a great-grandson, Addison Bowley of New Hampshire; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; an infant son, Peter DeMillo; and a brother, Richard Merrill Flagg.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn and Montello Manor Nursing Home in Lewiston for all their care and support during our mother’s illness.
