OXFORD – Thomas H. Cushman, 63, of Oxford, died suddenly at his home on June 15.

He was born Nov. 23, 1945, the son of Alton and Delcia (Michaud) Cushman. He was educated in Oxford area schools and also took automotive courses in Portland.

He owned and operated Cushman’s Garage on the Cold Water Brook Road in Oxford for more than 35 years. He was well-known for his wrecker service over the years. He loved his home and family more than anything.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Victoria (Noble) Cushman; daughter, Diane Heino and husband, Ed, of Norway and daughter, Rhonda Cushman and her partner of 20 years, Glenn Rowe, of Turner; two sons, Steven W. Cushman and wife, Alicia, of South Paris and James S. Cushman of Oxford; stepson, Dana Mullen of Norway; eight grandchildren, Renee Cushman of Paris, Delicia and Stephanie Cushman of South Paris, Eric Heino of Norway, Kaszi Cushman of Auburn and Katriza, Kaitlyn and Kristyna Rowe of Turner; two great-grandchildren, Abby and Isaac; his special auntie, Janice Fitts and her husband, Ernie and their family of Poland; sister, Valerie and brothers, Wayne and Rob Avery, all of Connecticut; and brother, Walter Nurmi of Tacoma, Wash.

He was predeceased by his parents.
