AUGUSTA (AP) – Another four confirmed or suspected cases of swine flu have been reported in Maine in the past 48 hours.

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that the tally of confirmed cases now stands at 43 among state residents, and 10 for out-of-staters who tested positive while visiting Maine. Another two residents are suspected of having swine flu.

The Maine CDC reports that only 10 percent of swine flu cases have required hospitalizations. The bulk of the cases have been reported in the 5- to 24-year-old age group.

There have been only 12 cases in people 50 years or older in Maine.
