LEWISTON – Advocates for Children will offer the following parenting classes in July. All classes will be held at Advocates for Children at the B Street Community Center, 57 Birch St., Suite 204.
1,2,3,4 Parents!: The three-week program is for parents with children ages 1 to 4. Parents will learn discipline methods that work, how to prevent tantrums, routines to make life easier and more. The class will feature video presentations, discussion, workbook activities and group activities. Class will meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays, July 7, 14 and 21. The class is free and includes a handbook. Registration is required.
Boot Camp for New Dads: The community education program for first-time fathers will be taught by fathers and will enable new dads to step up to the challenge of being a dad and feel confident bringing the new baby home. The class is for men that are expecting a child and want to better prepare for the new parenting role. Participants will benefit from networking and mutual support at the workshop. New dads are encouraged to attend with their child. Class will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15. The class is free. Registration is required.
