BANGOR (AP) – A 31-year-old Danforth man has been found guilty of operating under the influence, aggravated OUI and reckless conduct in a car crash that left his pregnant girlfriend paralyzed.

A Penobscot County jury deliberated for 90 minutes Thursday before returning its verdict against Jayson Caron.

The Bangor Daily News said Caron got drunk during the Springfield fair in September 2007, demanded the keys from Bobbi Jo Norris and then rolled his truck, causing the 21-year-old Mattawamkeag resident to live the rest of her life as a paraplegic.

Caron and Norris are no longer a couple. The prosecutor said their daughter, who lives with her mother, is now 16 months old and healthy.
