AUBURN – Pat’s Pizza picked up two more victories in recent Auburn Suburban Little League Minor Division baseball.
Alex Breton and Emmy Lashua lashed out two hits apiece to spark the offense in a 12-2 victory over Hammond Lumber. Storm Jipson was stellar defensively at second base for the Pizza nine.
Drew Tiner hit a triple for Hammond, while Caleb Yarnevich was a defensive standout at first base.
Ben Cassidy reached base five times, scoring three runs for Pat’s in a thrilling 12-9 victory over Dillingham & Son.
Patrick Dooley made it safely to the basepaths on four occasions.
Cooper Watkins played a great game in the outfield for Pat’s.
Ian Brushwein and Jonah Crowell belted out two doubles apiece for Dillingham and Son.
Robbie Kurtz and Giles Paradie gave Dillingham solid pitching.
Buckfield farm team girls split pair
BUCKFIELD – Buckfield outlasted Woodstock, 9-6, in farm team softball action. Alyssa Therriault earned the pitching win in relief of starter Alexis Bennett. Therriault also added a key two-run single to help Buckfield. Bennett reached base safely in three appearances. Mackenzie Heathco reached twice and scored twice for the winners. Briana Damon and Caitlin Buswell ripped singles for the Bucks.
Sumner handed Buckfield its first loss of the season, 9-1, behind the strong pitching of Lauren Henderson. Henderson went the distance, striking out 12. Erin Eastman scored three runs and played good defense for Sumner. Bennett pitched well in relief for Buckfield and had a base hit. Gracie Turcotte knocked in the lone Buckfield run with a single. Kristin Phillips, Buswell, Mackenzie Richardson and Damon each added hits for Buckfield.
