Location changed

LEWISTON – A supper, to be held on Saturday, June 20, after the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph’s Church of the Prince of Peace Parish, will be held at Trinity Catholic Junior High School, Main Street. The location has changed due to weather. Monsignor Mark Caron, the Rev. Nathan March and the Rev. Joseph Daniels will attend, as well as the Rev. Michael Seavey and the Rev. Frank Morin, who will travel from Waterville.

Strawberry festival

NEW GLOUCESTER – The 34th annual New Gloucester Strawberry Festival will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at the Congregational Church Vestry, Gloucester Hill Road.

Highlights of the festival will include New Gloucester strawberries, homemade biscuits, Hodgman’s Frozen Custard and the “Berry, Berry Good Band.” New Gloucester souvenirs will be on sale to benefit the History Barn Project. The festival will be hosted by the members and friends of the New Gloucester Historical Society, celebrating its 75th anniversary.

Distribution day

AUBURN – Auburn AC Serve, part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, will hold Distribution Day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, 263 Turner St., Whitney Street entrance. Registrations for July also will be taken.

Radio field day

Scholarship sale

OTISFIELD – A Flamingos and Fleas Scholarship Sale to benefit the scholarship fund of the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Otisfield Community Center, Route 121.

All monies raised will be added to the scholarship fund which gives awards to area students each year.

Garden questions

PARIS – The University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Oxford County is offering a hands-on opportunity to get gardening questions answered in two July sessions.

A meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at the Extension office gardens in South Paris.

The second session will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at the Community Gardens next to Hosmer Field in Rumford.

There is no fee for the workshops, but preregistration is required by calling 743-6329 or 1-800-287-1482.

Given flags

PARIS – Foreign exchange students at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School are honored at the end of each school year during senior assembly and are given an American flag as they leave the school and the United States.

Veterans service organizations in the area offer support to continue the tradition. This year Anderson-Staples Post 112, American Legion, Oxford, did the honors.

Pancake breakfast

WINDHAM – The Lake Region Shrine Club will sponsor a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at Gilbert’s Chowder House, Route 35, North Windham. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.
