POLAND – New Auburn Legion posted a six-run sixth inning and battled through a bevy of walks to claim a 12-7 victory over Mechanic Falls Post 150 in a nine-inning contest at Poland Regional High School on Saturday.

Adam Lutz recorded the win, allowing three runs over the final six innings to lift his team’s record to 2-0. Cody Goddard and Devin Flynn also pitched for Post 153.

Mike Littlefield started the game for Mechanic Falls (0-2), and Nick Douglass was tagged with the loss after pitching the sixth inning.

Trey Ouellette and Travis Linehan belted home runs for Mechanic Falls in the loss. Lutz, Flynn and Shane Ciriello were repeat hitters for NAL.

Swasey-Torrey 14, Cole Farms 4

DIXFIELD – Swasey-Torrey Post 100 erupted with 12 runs in the seventh and eighth innings and rolled past Cole Farms with a 14-4 victory in an American Legion game Saturday.

Eric Bolduc hit a one-run homer, Eric Gates doubled and had three hits, and Aaron Fenstermacher had three hits.

For Cole Farms, Brett Bailey, Taylor Valente, who also tripped, and pitcher Ben Noble all had two hits.
