WEST PARIS — David Lee Newell, 52, of West Paris, died Saturday, June 27, at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Norway on June 14, 1957, the son of Robert and Joann (Desilett) Newell Sr. and was educated in local schools.
David had worked as a sawyer at Penley’s Mill for 18 years.
He was an avid hunter. He loved to garden, tinker on lawn mowers and cut firewood. He also worked as a caretaker for the Day Farm. In his younger days, he loved to do carving.
He is survived by his parents of West Paris; his wife, Elaine (Estes) Newell, of West Paris; one daughter, Lindsay Newell of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Casey Newell, and his companion, Kathy Scelzo; two brothers, Robert Newell Jr. of Woodstock, and Dana Newell of West Paris; one sister, Robyn Sessions of West Paris; two grandchildren, Grayson Newell and Brady Scelzo; and his faithful dog, Izzy.
