CARTHAGE — New England Celtic Arts will present the popular Maine-based, Acadian trio Ti Acad’ie Wednesday, July 8, at Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center and Thursday, July 9, at Lakeside Theater in Rangeley. Both concerts start at 7 p.m. A preshow jam at Skye Theatre will start at 6:15 p.m.

Ti Acad’ie is a folk trio and dance band equally at home playing for concerts, contra dances or Cajun dances. Band members are Pam Weeks. fiddle, mountain dulcimer, guitar and vocals; Jim Joseph, button accordion, five-string banjo, mandolin, fiddle, jaw harp, percussion, feet and vocals; and Bill Olson, guitar, bass, vocals and calling. Together, they perform a variety of music: traditional French-Canadian, Acadian and New England dance tunes; sea chanteys and maritime songs; Cajun waltzes and two-steps; old-time Southern tunes and songs; and original reels, jigs, aires and waltzes written by Weeks.
