LISBON FALLS — Don’s Automotive Inc. recently opened at its new location, 6 Capital Ave. The business was originally owned by Donald Partridge of Lisbon, who owned and operated Don’s Gulf (currently The Big Apple) from 1963 through 1970, at which time he went to work for St. Johnsbury Trucking. In 1977 he moved to 139 Upland Road, Lisbon, at which time the name Don’s Automotive was established. While Don worked nights for St. Johnsbury, he operated the business part time. During the mid 1980s, his son, Ron Partridge, managed and operated the business in the back yard of their home. In 1988 the company became incorporated, and in May of 2003, a second generation took over the reins. As the new owners, Ron and Marge Partridge, immediately started making updates and changes to the 25-year-old business.
During the past six years, the business reached its capacity. The move was made to
6 Capital Ave., Lisbon Falls, and the new building was open for business June 1. Two experienced members have been added to their workforce, now totaling a full staff of seven. This includes five highly experienced techs and two office support personnel.
A grand opening celebration will be held June 27. The celebration will include tours of the new facility, giveaways, free food and drinks and other activities from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
