WILTON — The following sessions are to be held during July at the Wilton CareerCenter, 865 U.S. Route 2E in Wilton. There is no charge and all workshops begin promptly at listed times.

“CareerCenter Employment and Training Orientation” is offered every Monday from 10 a.m. to noon (except July 6, closed due to extended holiday). This workshop also provides a brief introduction to the Wilton CareerCenter services.
“CareerCenter and Job Search Orientation” is offered every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon. An orientation, this presentation offers an overview of what is available here to assist people who are looking for work.
“CareerCenter Youth Orientation” will be offered July 9, from 10 a.m. to noon, and again July 23, at the same time. The youth orientation is for those ages 16 to 21, and offers an introduction to services at the Wilton CareerCenter.
“Preparing Your Resume for Online Applications” will be offered July 13 from 1:30 to 3 p.m., and again July 27, also from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The focus is on helping customers to format their resume so it can be attached to an online application. Please bring a work and educational history.
“Ace That Interview!” will be offered July 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. Learn how to prepare for a successful job interview and to promote the qualifications that match what the employer needs. Obtain tips on how to dress and what to take to the interview.
“Creating Your Professional Portfolio,” will be offered July 16 from 10 a.m. to noon. This workshop will outline the process and help attendees create a professional portfolio.
“MEOC 101 — Essentials of College Planning,” will be offered July 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event will provide instructions on filling out financial aid forms to assist people in obtaining the maximum amount in grants or loans. Those interested must preregister for this session by calling 1-800-281-3703.
“Resume Writing,” will be offered July 20 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. It will explore the basics of résumés and applications and share what can make a résumé or application stand out. Please bring work and educational history.
“O*Net Ability Profiler” Call for further information as this workshop requires five or more people for attendance. This is a career exploration tool that helps clients plan their work path. Results can be used to identify strengths for which more training/education is needed, and to identify occupations that fit their strengths.
A community college adviser is available every Monday from noon to 4 p.m. to talk to people about their options to attend college. He will help explore college choices based on interests and career goals.
