Muriel Bonney
1935 – 2009

AUBURN — Muriel Bonney, 74, passed away June 18, at the Hospice House after a short battle with breast cancer.

She was born May 31, 1935, in Norway, to Joseph and Madeline (Meagher) Crooker. She joined brothers Herbert, Harold, Arthur, and Robert and sisters, Margaret, Celia, Pauline and Janet.

She attended Mechanic Falls High School. After graduating in 1953, she married Adrian Andersen. After their divorce, she married Corey Bonney. Later they also divorced.

She was a member of the American Legion and a 22-year member of the Twelve Hour Club in Lewiston. She had worked in shoe shops in Norway and Auburn.

She loved to play bingo, Texas Holdum and Poker. She also loved to do crafts, knit and crochet. She was very generous in sharing her talents and creations with others.

She lived in Norway, Auburn and Mechanic Falls. She also lived in Oak Hills and Oka Opalocka, Fla. She was a very kind person who spoke her mind.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Vitali and her daughters husband, Joe, who reside in Tennessee; her son, Ronald Andersen and his wife, Linda, and their two sons, Ronnie and Joey, who reside in Florida; siblings, her brother, Robert Crooker of Cary Plantation; her sisters, Pauline Baird of Oxford and Janet Nickerson of Raleigh, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Crooker; brothers, Herbert, Harold and Arthur Crooker; mother, Madeline Tuttle; and sisters, Margaret Reid, Celia Cash and Roberta Perry.

Many thanks to her friends, family, Dr. Bosma, and the staff at Hospice House in Auburn for all the care, kindness, and support they gave to Muriel. She was a one-of-a-kind individual, who will be remembered by many.
