AUBURN — On Saturday, July 4, the Gracelawn Road ball fields will be closed to vehicles during the Liberty Festival fireworks display, but people will still be able to park nearby and walk to the fields to view the fireworks.
In past years, vehicles had been permitted to park on the fields during the fireworks display, but due to recent upgrades to the landscaping and the amount of recent rain, vehicles will not be allowed onto the fields, according to a statement from the Auburn Police Department. Parking will be available in designated areas off Gracelawn Road, and members of the Auburn Police Department Regional Explorer Post 333 will assist with parking and pedestrian crossing to the fields.
The Explorer Post will also have a booth set up to sell refreshments, including pizza, chips, soda and water.
