Bottle drive
AUBURN — The Auburn Ski Association will hold a bottle drive from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 11. Youth skiers and snowboarders will collect bottles or bottles may be dropped off at Florian’s Market where an account is set up for ASA. Last year, ASA donated about $14,000 in support of alpine and Nordic race programs at Edward Little and Auburn Middle School, Lost Valley Race Club, Sno-mad, the Auburn Nordic Ski Association, scholarships, and equipment purchases. Car wash
LEWISTON — The Multi-Purpose Gymnastics Parents Club will hold a car
wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday July 12, at Getty Mart, 550 Lisbon
St. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help to defray the costs of
equipment, apparel and competition costs for the team.
Kidney screening
LEWISTON — Andover College will host a free kidney health
screening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 29. The screenings will be held in the medical laboratory at the campus, 475 Lisbon St. Conducted by the National Kidney
Foundation, the test is valued at $500 and screens for chronic kidney
disease. It is open to the public.
Eligible candidates for the screening must be at least 18 years old and
have diabetes, high blood pressure and/or a parent or sibling with
diabetes, high blood pressure or kidney disease.
