WELLS, Maine (AP) – A Massachusetts man who led police on a chase until he crashed a stolen car into Wells Harbor remains in the York County Jail.
Police in the town of Wells had to use rowboats to reach the sinking car and pull the unconscious motorist to safety through a broken window on Monday. They say 25-year-old Brett Korpi of Hudson, Mass., was charged with eluding arrest after he was treated for minor injuries at Southern Maine Medical Center.
Police said more charges in both Maine and Massachusetts are pending. They say the 2006 Mercury Milan was pulled from the harbor on Tuesday.
