LEWISTON — Conroy LeBlond’s double and Jeff Keene’s triple sparked a two-run second inning that snapped a deadlock and sent first-place Gayton Post to an 8-3 victory over Andy Valley in a Zone 3 American Legion baseball game Sunday.

With the game tied 3-3, LeBlond led off with a double off the fence. After advancing on a wild pitch, he scored the go-ahead run on Corbin Hyde’s infield out.

Keene then ripped a triple and scored on Alex Wong’s sacrifice fly.

Leblond knocked in a pair of insurance runs in the fifth inning during a three-run uprising.

Keene went the distance on the mound to pick up the win, allowing nine hits and striking out five.

Keene, LeBlond, Mekae Hyde, Greg Labonte and Willie Emerson all had two hits for Gayton.

Dan Buzzell, Lucas Schandelmier, Willie Brown and Ryan Jackson had teo hits apiece for Andy Valley (4-10).
