Lindy Jean Dube
1957 – 2009
CHANDLER, Ariz. — Lindy Jean Dube, 52, of Chandler, Ariz., died July 4, of a heart attack.
She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 28, 1957, the daughter of Laurice (Arnold) and Raymond Whittier and later the stepdaughter of Raymond Cote.
On Sept. 11, 1973, she married Michael Dube. They had a daughter, Monica. The marriage ended and she married Richard Labonte in the later 1970s. They had a daughter, Laurie and a son, Justin. The marriage ended in a divorce.
On Sept. 11, 1993, she and Michael Dube remarried and moved to Arizona. They were soulmates until her untimely death.
She loved living in Arizona, but missed her family and friends in Maine. She came back often to visit and walk the beach at Old Orchard.
She worked a brief time at Turner Street Market in Auburn, which was owned by her Aunt Judith and Uncle David Crooker. She was a stay at home mom and homemaker for the remaining time.
Her hobbies include collecting Indian artifacts, pictures, Indian dolls, statues, placques and anything Indian. She also collected cactus ornaments, salt shakers, chimes, placques and things shaped like cactus. The urn which will hold her ashes is oak with an engraved cactus.
She will be missed by all her family and friends who loved her, especially, Pam, Mandy, Meg, Ryan, Kaitlin, Krystal and her little dog, Chaquita.
Survivors include her husband, Michael of Chandler, Ariz.; two daughters, Monica Dube of Chandler, Ariz., and Laurie Labonte of Waterville; one son, Justin Labonte and his wife, Jennifer, of Farmington; a sister, Lisa Cote of Livermore; two brothers, Raymond Whittier and his wife, Dottie, of Lewiston and John Morin and his wife, Jody, of Turner; her stepfather, Ray Cote of Lewiston; and three grandchildren, Lenny Edwards, Michell Lavoie and Brandon Lavoie.
She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond Whittier and Laurice Cote; and one brother, Michael Morin.
