WILTON — Nathan Reid began working this week for the Wilton Police Department, but his orientation won’t take long.
Reid from Strong is one of the most experienced officers to take a patrol officer position in Wilton, he said. He has just over five years experience as a patrol officer with the Farmington Police Department and two years experience with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department where he served as a detention officer, dispatcher and reserve patrol deputy.
Reid is also a field-training officer who will eventually help train other new comers to the Wilton department, he said.
So far, it’s been good, Reid said of the position. He likes the town — especially the lake — and in his spare time he likes fishing and spending time outdoors with his family, he said.
Reid accepted the position vacated by Mark Przeslak who returned to Michigan for family reasons, said Chief Dennis Brown.
