PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – Portland’s new NBA Development League team is looking for somebody with acrobatic skills to be its new mascot.
The Maine Red Claws are holding auditions on July 25 for team mascot, as well as for public address announcer for the team’s inaugural season.
Team officials say the mascot, Crusher, will be unveiled later this summer. For the audition, contestants should be good at interacting with crowds, acrobatics and working with props.
Portland was awarded a franchise in the D-League last winter. The league serves as a feeder league to the NBA, with the schedule running from November to April.
