AUBURN — Lewiston/Auburn Community Little Theatre will hold auditions for “The Full Monty” at 7 p.m.Sunday and Monday, Aug. 2-3, at Great Falls Performing Arts Center.

The play with book by Terrence McNally and music and lyrics by David
Yazbek earned multiple Tony Award nominations and Drama Desk Awards. It
follows the story of six unemployed steel workers, low on cash,
prospects and self-esteem, who decide to put together a “Chippendales”
act to earn some extra dough. The Monty women are just as important as
the men as they are the springboard and back story for everything their
men are doing.

  Ron Bouffard is director. Joseph Villani is musical director. Performance dates are October 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 and 11.

A large cast includes the following:

Jerry Lukowski:(lead) 30s, a divorced dad, hopes to retain custody of his son.

Dave Bukatinsky: (lead) 30s, Jerry’s best friend; overweight and has a sarcastic sense of humor.

Malcolm Macgregor:20-30s, sweet, naive and inexperienced, still lives with his elderly mother.

Harold Nichols: 40s, unemployed supervisor, straight laced.

Ethan Girard: 20-40s, gymnastic skills a plus.

Noah “Horse” Simmons: 50s, African-American; a retired mill worker, has the moves and knows how to dance.

Buddy “Keno” Walsh: 20s, stripper who opens the show.

Nathan Lukowske: around age 12, non-singing role, Jerry’s son and street smart.

Georgie Bukatinsky: (lead) 30s, Dave’s wife

Vicki Nichols: (lead) 30-40s, Harold’s wife, exuberant and extravagant.

Pam Lukowski: 30s, Jerry’s estranged wife;

Jeanette Burmeister: 70-80s, a rowdy piano player, could steal the show, does not need piano skills.

There are many minor roles in the men and women ensembles, including police officers, ballroom dancers, club members and steel workers. Auditioners must be over 18 with the exception of young Nathan. The parents of this auditioner should be advised that the script contains adult language and material.
